March 23, 2025
I’m sitting in our weekly session, wishing I were anywhere but here. I said I was going to journal, but the blank page glares back at me, and I’m coming up empty. A sick dog, looming deadlines, and a sleepless night all seem like perfect excuses to deke away. But then I glance over at the dozen little Zoom worlds—busy heads and hearts working in their studios, their kitchens, even their cars—and I’m reminded how this quiet co-creating energy pulls me back to accountability. I think of all the amazing things we’ve accomplished on these evenings, alone yet together. I don’t want to bail anymore, I want to write about it.
Pantoum #83
Artists, writers, makers showing up together
Tonight I celebrate you, this hive alive with commitment.
When I sneak away from accountability is when I need it most.
Thank you for reminding me: self-care isn’t a lonely task.
Tonight I celebrate you, this hive alive with commitment,
In your Brady Bunch Zoom boxes, stacked with strong support.
Thank you for reminding me: self-care isn’t a lonely task.
When I’m ready to bail, I look over to you—and hunker back down.
In your Brady Bunch Zoom boxes, stacked with strong support,
When I sneak away from accountability is when I need it most.
And when I’m ready to bail, I look over to you—and hunker back down.
Artists, writers, makers showing up together.
A note of thanks
For over two years, this little Sunday-night ritual has been a quiet anchor—a sacred hour where we gather, check in, and commit to our creative work alongside one another. No pressure, just presence. We say hi, type our intentions in the chat, then mute and do the thing. I’m so grateful for each of you who shows up with courage, curiosity, and care.
This bonus co-working session is offered free to current participants in Writing from the Well. If you’re a paid subscriber, it’s included in your subscription. If you’re curious to join us, upgrading your subscription is a beautiful way to support your own practice—and this community.
INVITATION:
If you’re craving gentle accountability, creative momentum, or simply a steady hour to show up for yourself—consider this your invitation. We’d love to welcome you into our quiet, committed hive.
My next Writing from the Well 10-week series begins March 27, 2025. We gather weekly (online) to move gently inward, to write what wants to be written, and to surprise ourselves along the way. You’re warmly invited. (Recordings are accessible until July 1)
See you tomorrow for #84, here in the Pantoumery.
What’s a pantoum, you say? I’m writing one each day, for a year. Learn how HERE
